The active substance in clotrimazole is an antifungal medicine. It inhibits the growth of a number of pathogenic fungi, including dermatophytes, yeasts and fungi, especially of the genus Candida. It also acts on some types of bacteria, such as Trichomonas vaginalis, gram-positive microbes, especially streptococci and staphylococci, and gram-negative microbes (Bacteroides, Gardnerella vaginalis) causing vaginal infections (gynecological inflammations).
Dosage and method of use
The recommended dose is 1 Candibene 200 mg vaginal tablet daily for 3 consecutive days.

The active substance is clotrimazole 100 or 200 mg per tablet.

Contraindication
If you are in the first third (first three months) of pregnancy or if you are breast-feeding, your doctor will assess the need to use this medicine. If your doctor recommends that you use the product in the 2nd or 3rd trimester (ie in the 4th-9th month of pregnancy), the vaginal tablets should be inserted without an applicator.
