How long should you use the Canesten Gyn Combi Pack?

Because gynecological inflammations usually involve both the scrotum and the vulva (the external genitalia), both of these areas should be treated simultaneously.

Unless the doctor specifies otherwise, the treatment is as follows:

The Canesten vaginal tablet will be injected once in the vagina, preferably the night before bedtime. At the affected sites around the vagina and the rectum, Canesten is applied thinly on a 2-3 times daily basis (usually about half a centimeter of the cream on a palm-sized area). Use the cream for 1-2 weeks.

Before each use of the cream, the affected area should be washed and dried thoroughly.

A sexual partner should also undergo local Canesten cream treatment, not only when it has symptoms of infection. Recommended treatment for a sexual partner is to chew Canesten cream on the foreskin and the acorn 2-3 times a day for 1-2 weeks.

If the Canesten Gyn Combi Pack does not improve symptoms within 7 days of onset, or if the symptoms get worse, visit your doctor.

Healing should not be performed during menstruation. Treatment should end before the onset of menstruation.

What is the use of Canesten - a cream?

Female external inflammation in women and male genital mutilation:

If the doctor does not specify otherwise, apply Canesten - cream 2 to 3 times a day to the affected areas in the thin layer (usually about half a centimeter of the cream on the palm-sized area). For women, the cream is applied to the area of the outer genitalia to the rectum, the skin of the acorn and the foreskin. The cream should be used for 1-2 weeks.

If there is no improvement in symptoms after 7 days of treatment, or if the symptoms get worse, consult a doctor.

Skin infections (dermatomycoses):

Unless the doctor asks otherwise, Canesten cream is applied 2-3 times a day to the affected areas in the thin layer (usually about half a centimeter of the cream on the palm-sized area).

The cream should be used for 3-4 weeks for fungal skin diseases (dermatomycoses), 2-4 weeks for erythrasma and 1-3 weeks for pytiriasis versicolor.

If there is no improvement in symptoms after 14 days of treatment, consult a doctor.

Before each use of the cream, the affected area should be washed and dried thoroughly.

Successful treatment with Canesten cream is important for regular and sufficiently long treatment. To achieve complete healing, the cream should be used for the aforementioned time, even if the clinical signs of the disease disappear.
