A.Vogel Prostasan 30 capsules

Prostasan is a herbal medicine and is used to support the treatment of minor urinary symptoms in men, such as frequent urge to urinate during the day or night, weakening of the urinary stream or dribbling of urine at night.

This medicine is used in adult men aged 18 and over. If you don't feel better or feel worse after 4 - 8 weeks, contact your doctor.

Contraindications

Prostasan must not be taken

• if you are allergic to saw palmetto fruits or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6.
• of women, children and young people.

Interactions

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using any other medicines, have recently taken/used any other medicines, or might take/use any other medicines. No interactions are known. No interaction studies have been conducted.

Application

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or exactly as your doctor or pharmacist tells you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.

The recommended dose is:

• Adults: 1 capsule once a day after meals, swallowed whole with a little water 

Side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.

The following side effects have been reported:

• Uncommon (may affect up to 1 in 100 people): nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain (especially if taken on an empty stomach). This is largely avoided by taking the capsule with a meal.
• Very rare (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people): allergic skin reactions (rash, purpura, edema).
• Not known (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data): Allergic or hypersensitivity reactions, headache.

composition

The active ingredient is: Thick extract from saw palmetto fruits. 1 capsule contains 320 mg thick extract from saw palmetto fruits (Sabalis serrulatae fructus) (drug extract ratio 9 - 12:1, extractant ethanol 96% v/v)

The other ingredients are: gelatin, glycerol, sorbitol solution 70%, iron oxide yellow, red and black (E 172) and purified water.
