Osmigen 500 mg 30 tablets
OSMIGEN is a venotonic agent, a vasoprotective that increases venous wall tension and resistance to capillaries (the smallest blood vessels). It reduces swelling and has an anti-inflammatory effect.
It is used in adult patients to treat chronic venous insufficiency of the lower limbs: it relieves edema (swelling) and other signs of chronic venous insufficiency (feeling of weight in legs, pain, night cramps, trophic changes (ie skin changes due to poor nutrition and tissue resistance) ), including leg ulcer.
It is also used in adult patients for the treatment of hemorrhoids (these are nodal veins in the rectum). Hemorrhoids are accompanied by symptoms such as itching, pain or bleeding in the rectum and difficulty emptying.
If you use it to treat chronic venous insufficiency and at the same time suffer from leg ulcer, other skin changes, or hemorrhoids, always consult your doctor for treatment.
If you feel unwell within three weeks in the case of chronic venous insufficiency or within 7 days in the case of hemorrhoids, or if you become aggravated, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Dosage and method of use
Recommended dose:
- for the treatment of chronic venous insufficiency, the recommended dose is 2 tablets daily taken in one dose or two separate doses (1 tablet at noon and 1 tablet in the evening),
- in the case of acute haemorrhoid inflammation, up to 6 tablets per day (preferably in two divided doses) are taken for the first 4 days, followed by 4 tablets per day (preferably in two divided doses) for the next 3 days. Subsequently, the so-called maintenance dose of 2 tablets a day (taken in one dose or two separate doses) is continued.
The tablets are taken with a meal and swallowed with liquid.
Composition
The medicine contains the active substance diosmin. Each film-coated tablet contains 500 mg diosmin micronisate.
The other ingredients are:
- tablet core: microcrystalline cellulose (E460), gelatin, talc, magnesium stearate, sodium carboxymethyl starch (type A), purified water.
- coating: red iron oxide (E172), yellow iron oxide (E172), Opadry OYL28900 white coating (containing titanium dioxide (E171), hypromellose, macrogol 4000, lactose monohydrate).
