VOLTAREN EMULGEL 10mg Gel 50 g
Voltaren Emulgel is an over-the-counter medicine that contains the medicinal substance diclofenac . It belongs to a group of medicinal products called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicinal products (NSAID = non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). It is specially created to be rubbed into the skin, reduces pain , inflammation and reduces swelling .
Adolescents from 14 years of age can use Voltaren Emulgel for short-term local symptomatic relief of pain, inflammation and swelling in:
- acute injuries such as sprains, contusions, blunt injuries (sports injuries).
Adults (from 18 years) use Voltaren Emulgel for local symptomatic treatment of pain and inflammation in:
- soft tissue injuries, such as post-traumatic inflammations of tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints, caused by e.g. sprains, sprains and contusions;
- back pain (injuries sustained during sports);
- localized forms of soft tissue rheumatism, e.g. tendovaginitis (tennis elbow), bursitis and periarthropathy;
- localized forms of degenerative rheumatism, such as osteoarthritis of peripheral joints and knees.
The package contains 50 g of gel.
Dosage and method of use
Always take this medicine in accordance with the package leaflet.
Apply Voltaren Emulgel locally by gently rubbing it into the affected area 3-4 times a day . Depending on the size of the painful area to be treated, use 2 - 4 g of gel (an amount corresponding to the size of a cherry to a walnut). This is enough to treat an area of 400-800 cm2. After application, wipe your hands with a paper towel and then wash them if they are not a treatment site. For adolescents from 14 years of age, it is recommended to see a doctor if the product needs to be taken for more than 7 days for pain relief or if the symptoms worsen. An adult should not use the gel for more than 14 days without a doctor's recommendation ; however, if the condition does not improve or worsens when using the product, the patient should consult a doctor after 7 days of treatment. For painful arthrosis and rheumatism of soft tissues, the doctor decides on the duration of treatment.
Ingredients
The active substance is diclofenac diethylamine. One gram of gel contains diclofenac diethylamine 11.6 mg, which corresponds to diclofenac sodium 10 mg. Excipients are carbomer 974 P, cetomacrogol 1000, caprylocaprinates of lipid alcohols, diethylamine, cream perfume (contains benzyl benzoate, benzyl alcohol, citronellol, coumarin, d-form limonene, eugenol, geraniol and linalool), isopropyl alcohol, liquid paraffin, propylene glycol, purified water.
Contraindication
Read the package leaflet carefully.
This product is not intended for use in children and adolescents under 14 years of age. Do not use Voltaren Emulgel if you are allergic to the medicinal substance or any auxiliary substance listed in the composition. The product must not be used by women in the last three months of pregnancy. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to become pregnant, talk to your doctor before taking this medicine.
