AAKG:
Arginine alpha-ketoglutarate (abbreviated designation AAKG, resp. A-AKG) is a substance composed of the amino acid l-arginine and alphaketoglutarate (alphaketoglutaic acid). It is taken with the primary aim of boosting nitric oxide metabolism in the body. However, the effects of this supplement do not have to be so one-sided. It plays a significant role in many biological processes. It helps the body get rid of waste products, participates in the formation of various compounds in the body (including creatine), in the production of nitric oxide (which contributes to the relaxation of blood vessels – vasodilation), stimulates the release of hormones, if necessary it can be converted into glucose, and various other functions.
Citrulline malate: Citrulline malate is a non-essential amino acid (i.e. the body can produce it), which is converted in the kidneys to arginine and nitric oxide (NO).
The latter causes the expansion of blood vessels in the body, thanks to which it lowers blood pressure and also increases blood flow. In addition, nitric oxide stimulates the secretion of certain hormones, such as growth hormone and insulin. The malate form means that a salt of malic acid is bound to citrulline.
