PECTODRILL For Wet Cough syrup 200 ml
Pectodrill syrup belongs to a group of medicines called mucolytics (medicines to help cough). Carbocysteine, the active substance in Pectodrill, changes the structure of mucus in the airways. It disrupts the chemical bonds in their gel phase and normalizes the excessive viscosity of mucus, thus having a positive effect on the excretion of mucus from the bronchi and facilitating its expectoration.
Pectodrill is used for the onset of respiratory infections (in the acute stage) associated with a wet cough and difficulty coughing up mucus from the bronchi.
Pectodrill is intended for adults, adolescents and children from 6 years of age.
The pack size is 200 ml.
Dosage and method of use
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
Dosage
Adults and adolescents from 12 years of age:
The recommended dose is 1 scoop (15 ml) 3 times a day at the start of treatment. The dose may be reduced to 10 ml 3 times a day when the desired effect is achieved. The maximum daily dose is 45 ml (3 scoops per day).
Children from 6 to 12 years:
The recommended dose is 5 ml 3 times a day.
The syrup must not be used by children under 2 years of age. The syrup is not intended for use in children under 6 years of age because the measuring cup does not allow the appropriate dose to be measured.
Method of administration:
Oral administration. Swallow the syrup with liquid. The release and expectoration of mucus is supported by adequate fluid intake.
Always rinse the measuring cup with water after use.
If you do not feel better within 5 days or if you become overweight, you must consult a doctor.
Ingredients
The active substance is carbocistein. One ml of syrup contains 50 mg of carbocistein. The other ingredients are: Sucrose, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), caramel flavor, sodium hydroxide (for pH adjustment), purified water.
Contraindication

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy and breast-feeding.
Pectodrill is not suitable for children under 6 years of age.
