Aggressive free radicals, which are caused by normal metabolic processes or enter our body through pollutants and stimulants, can attack and damage the cell membranes.

An enzyme with the unpronounceable name "glutathione peroxidase" protects cells from these attacks. However, the functioning of this enzyme is only ensured by the trace element selenium, which is in the central position of the enzyme molecule.

Selenium is an essential trace element that must be supplied to the body in sufficient quantities through food. Selenium are e.g. B. Saltwater fish, meat, offal and Brazil nuts. However, the selenium content of our food depends on the selenium content of the soil, which is comparatively low in Central Europe. In this respect, the selenium intake in Germany is well below the international average.

In order to provide the body with sufficient selenium in times of high selenium requirements and to protect it against free radicals, Dr. Loges naturally developed a preparation.
