COLDISTOP nasal oil 10ml
COLDISTOP nasal oil helps relieve symptoms of chronically damaged mucous membranes.
1. WHAT IS COLDISTOP AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR?
COLDISTOP nasal oil is a drug for the relief of symptoms in acutely or chronically (permanently) damaged nasal mucosa. The blood circulation in the mucous membrane is stimulated.
Vitamin A plays an important role in the formation of new cells in the mucous membrane and in the production of the mucous membrane. Vitamin E supports the effect of vitamin A.
Areas of application
COLDISTOP nasal oil is used
- as a support for the treatment of acute and chronic (permanent) rhinitis, especially dry runny nose, and if the nasal mucous membrane is damaged by a cold,
- for supplementary and interval treatment , if you at the same time use aqueous nasal drops that contain decongestants,
- for the long-term treatment of a stinky nose (a disease in which the lining of the nose recedes). COLDISTOP is used here to soften and loosen crusts and dried secretions on the nasal mucous membrane.
- for dry sore throat (epipharyngitis sicca, pharyngitis chronica sicca),
- for tampon treatment of the inner nasal and sinus cavities after operations, e.g. after nasal septum operations, after maxillary sinus operations, etc.,
- to protect the nasal mucosa when you are particularly exposed to dust and exhaust gases.
2. WHAT SHOULD YOU KNOW BEFORE USING COLDISTOP?
COLDISTOP must not be used
- if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to vitamin A, vitamin E, peanut or soy or any of the other ingredients of COLDISTOP,
- if you are suffering from a vitamin A overdose,
- if you are treated with retinoic acid their chemical derivatives (see section “When using Coldistop with other medicines),
- when the pressure in the brain increases.
Take special care when using COLDISTOP
- The use of COLDISTOP is not recommended in children under 6 years of age.
- Particularly with children from 6 to 12 years of age, pregnant and breastfeeding women, as well as women of childbearing age without contraceptive protection, make sure that the maximum daily doses are strictly adhered to and not exceeded.
- Put only 1-2 drops of COLDISTOP into your nose at a time to avoid inhaling the oil into the lungs.
When using COLDISTOP with other medicinal products
Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking / using or have recently taken / used any other medicinal products, even those obtained without a prescription.
If high doses of vitamin A and drugs to inhibit blood clotting (dicumarol, warfarin) are used at the same time, the anticoagulant effect can be increased.
The simultaneous use of tetracyclines (medicines used to treat bacterial infectious diseases) and vitamin A can lead to an increase in intracranial pressure.
A combination of vitamin A and retinoic acid or its chemical derivatives (e.g. drugs for the treatment of skin diseases) should be avoided as there is a risk of vitamin A overdosing.
There is evidence that vitamin E and vitamin K influence each other in the formation of coagulation factors.
The effects of certain oral medicines used to prevent blood clotting (coumarin or indanedione preparations) can be influenced by high doses of vitamin E.
Vitamin E can make statins (medicines used to lower blood lipids) less effective.
The effect of vitamin E can be reduced by medicines containing iron.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using any medicine.
The doctor decides on the use of COLDISTOP during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
In pregnant women, breastfeeding women and women of childbearing age who do not use contraception, a daily dose of 5,000 IU vitamin A (= 10 drops of COLDISTOP) must not be exceeded because of the risk of child malformations.
Vitamin A and vitamin E cross the placenta and pass into breast milk. Driving
