Flurbiprofen Galenika is a medicine that contains flurbiprofen. Flurbiprofen belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) which have analgesic (pain-relieving) and anti-inflammatory properties in the treatment of sore throat . These medicines work by changing the way the body responds to pain, swelling and high temperature.
Flurbiprofen Galenika is used for the short-term relief of symptoms of sore throat, such as sore throat, pain and swelling, and difficulty swallowing, in adults and adolescents from 12 years of age.

Dosage and method of use
Recommended dosage for adults and children 12 years and older: Take 1 lozenge every 3 to 6 hours as needed. Do not take more than 5 lozenges in 24 hours.
How to use: Slowly dissolve the lozenge in your mouth, do not swallow or chew it. Always move the lozenge around in your mouth until it dissolves.
Do not take Flurbiprofen Galenika for more than 3 days. If your condition does not improve, worsens, or you develop new symptoms, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Composition
The active substance is flurbiprofen. One lozenge contains 8.75 mg of flurbiprofen.
Other ingredients are: Isomalt (E 953), Maltitol solution (E 965), Ponceau 4R (E 124), Sunset Yellow (E 110), Acesulfame potassium, Potassium hydroxide, Orange flavor [Limonene (50.0% - 100%), decanal (0.0% - 10%) citral, citronellol (0.1% - 1.0%)], Levomenthol.
Contraindication
Not suitable for children under 12 years of age.
Flurbiprofen Galenika with food, drink and alcohol - Alcohol should be avoided during treatment with Flurbiprofen Galenika as it may increase the risk of bleeding in the stomach or intestines.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility
Oral forms of flurbiprofen (taken by mouth, e.g. tablets) may cause side effects in your unborn baby. It is not known whether the same risk applies to Flurbiprofen Galenika. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
Do not use Flurbiprofen Galenika if you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy. Do not use Flurbiprofen Galenika during the first 6 months of pregnancy unless clearly necessary and your doctor tells you to. If you need treatment during this period, use the lowest possible dose for the shortest possible time.
Flurbiprofen belongs to a group of medicines that can affect fertility in women. This effect is reversible after stopping treatment. These lozenges are unlikely to affect the chances of becoming pregnant if used occasionally. However, if you have difficulty getting pregnant, tell your doctor before you start using this medicine.
Infections - Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may mask the symptoms of an infection, such as fever and pain. This may delay appropriate treatment of the infection, which may increase the risk of complications. If you are taking this medicine when you have an infection and the symptoms of the infection persist or worsen, consult your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
