Aspirin Complex Granule Sticks contains the active ingredients acetylsalicylic acid and pseudoephedrine hydrochloride. It has analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic and nasal mucosal decongestant properties.

Aspirin Complex Granule Sticks is used to treat symptoms of nasal congestion/sinus congestion with pain and fever associated with a cold and/or flu-like symptoms.

If you have only one of the above signs of the disease, treatment with a drug containing only one active ingredient is preferable.

If you don't feel better or even worse after 3 days, contact your doctor.
Aspirin Complex Granule Sticks is for adults and adolescents aged 16 and over.

Contraindications

Do not take Aspirin Complex Granular Sticks if you

  • are allergic to acetylsalicylic acid or salicylates (a group of substances used to treat pain and fever), pseudoephedrine, benzyl alcohol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
  • have a history of acetylsalicylic acid or similar substances used to treat pain, inflammation or rheumatism, so-called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, with asthma.
  • Have stomach or intestinal ulcers.
  • have an increased tendency to bleed.
  • have liver failure.
  • have kidney failure.
  • suffer from heart failure (heart failure).
  • have a disease of the coronary arteries.
  • have very high blood pressure.
  • Take 15 mg or more of methotrexate per week.
  • are pregnant.
  • breastfeeding.
  • have taken a medicine from the class of monoamine oxidase inhibitors for the treatment of depression or Parkinson's disease in the last two weeks.
  • have a very serious form of increased eye pressure, a condition called angle-closure glaucoma.
  • are unable to empty your bladder completely (urinary retention).

Interactions

Other medicines and Aspirin Complex granule sticks Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines, especially if you are taking any other medicines, especially if you are taking any other medicines
containing:

  • Methotrexate is used to treat severe joint inflammation, cancer, and the skin disease psoriasis. Do not take Aspirin Complex Granular Sticks if you are using methotrexate at doses of 15 mg or more per week. Medical supervision is recommended if you are taking methotrexate at doses below 15 mg per week.
  • Monoamine oxidase inhibitors used to treat depression or Parkinson's disease. Do not take Aspirin Complex Granule Sticks if you have taken such medicines within the last two weeks.
  • Active ingredients that inhibit blood clotting or dissolve blood clots.
  • Active ingredients from the group of so-called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for the treatment of pain, inflammation or rheumatism.
  • Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) used to treat depression.
  • other agents used to treat depression.
  • Digoxin used to treat heart failure and irregular heartbeat.
  • hypoglycemic agents.
  • Active ingredients to increase water excretion by the kidneys.
  • Glucocorticoids, if ingested or given as an injection or infusion – except hydrocortisone if used as a replacement therapy. Glucocorticoids can be used to relieve skin inflammation or asthma.
  • ACE inhibitors - agents whose names end in "pril", which are mainly used to treat hypertension.
  • Other active ingredients used to treat high blood pressure such as guanethidine, methyldopa, or whose names end in "lol".
  • Valproic acid for the treatment of epilepsy.
  • Benzbromarone or probenecid for the treatment of gout.
  • Salbutamol tablets for airway dilation. However, bronchodilator inhalation sprays with salbutamol may continue to be used in the prescribed dose.
  • Phenylephrine, ephedrine or other so-called sympathomimetics contained in nasal drops or sprays.

Taking Aspirin Complex Granule Sticks with Alcohol
Avoid alcohol during treatment with Aspirin Complex Granule Sticks, as it may increase the risk of stomach or intestinal bleeding.

Pregnancy, lactation and reproductive function
Aspirin Complex Granule Sticks should not be taken during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Aspirin Complex Granular Sticks belongs to a group of medicines (NSAIDs) that can make it difficult for women to get pregnant. This effect is only temporary and decreases after cessation of intake.

Driving and using machines
During treatment with Aspirin Complex Granule Sticks, your ability to react may be reduced. Avoid driving if this applies to you. The risk is further increased if you drink alcohol at the same time. This must be taken into account in the case of activities that require special attention.

Application

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you're not sure.

The recommended dose for adults and adolescents aged 16 and over:

  • Single dose: 1 to 2 sachets
    • The single dose can be repeated after 4 hours.
  • maximum daily dose: 6 sachets
    • Do not exceed the maximum daily dose.

Method of administration
The granules are intended for direct ingestion into the mouth. The granules dissolve in saliva and are then swallowed.
After ingestion, water should be drunk directly.

Duration of use
Do not take Aspirin Complex Granular Sticks for more than 3 days without medical advice.

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Possible side effects of acetylsalicylic acid include:Talk to your doctor or go to the nearest hospital immediately if you notice any of the following very serious side effects:

  • Allergic reactions, such as shortness of breath, skin reactions possibly with a drop in blood pressure, especially in asthmatics;
  • analgesics-induced respiratory disease (the symptoms of an existing respiratory disease are worsened by the drug);
  • peptic ulcer, which in isolated cases can lead to a rupture of the stomach;
  • Previous damage to the intestinal mucosa can lead to the formation of membranes in the intestinal cavity with possible subsequent narrowing (especially in the case of long-term treatment);
  • Stomach or intestinal bleeding, which in some cases leads to a reduced red blood cell count, which can possibly lead to increased fatigue. Signs of this include black stools or bloody vomiting;
  • rarely to very rarely severe internal bleeding such as gastric, intestinal or cerebral bleeding (especially due to uncontrolled hypertension and/or use of drugs that inhibit blood clotting or dissolve blood clots);
  • impaired renal function, renal failure;
  • increased degradation of red blood cells in severe glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency;

Talk to your doctor immediately if you notice any of the following serious side effects:

  • increasing the risk of bleeding such as mouth, vagina or anus bleeding;
  • gastrointestinal complaints such as stomach pain, indigestion and inflammation of the gastric mucosa;
  • temporarily impaired liver function with elevated liver enzymes called transaminases;
  • Vertigo;
  • Ringing in the ears (tinnitus).

Mild side effects:

  • Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.

Possible side effects of pseudoephedrine include:Talk to your doctor immediately if you notice any of the following serious side effects:

  • increase in blood pressure, but not with treated hypertension;
  • effects on the heart such as tachycardia or irregular heartbeat;
  • sleep disturbances, rarely hallucinations and other stimulations of the brain and spinal cord;
  • lack of ability to urinate, especially in patients with prostate enlargement;
  • effects on the skin such as rash, hives, itching;
  • Sudden onset of fever, redness of the skin, or many small pustules (possible signs of acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis - AGEP) may occur within the first 2 days of treatment with Aspirin Complex Granule Sticks. See section 2. If you experience these symptoms, stop taking Aspirin Complex granule sticks and contact a doctor immediately.
  • Inflammation of the colon due to insufficient blood supply (ischemic colitis).
  • Decreased blood supply to the optic nerve (ischemic optic neuropathy).

Mild side effects:

  • Erythema
  • Dry mouth

Composition

Each sachet contains as active ingredients

  • 500 mg acetylsalicylic acid and
  • 30 mg pseudoephedrine hydrochloride

The other ingredients are
isomalt, mannitol, citric acid, sucralose, acesulfame potassium, flavor flavor corrector (contains maltodextrin, acacia, natural and artificial flavors, medium chain triglycerides), orange flavor (contains maltodextrin, natural and artificial flavors, modified tapioca starch, all-rac-α-tocopherol, benzyl alcohol) and lemon flavor (contains maltodextrin, natural and artificial flavors, all-rac-α-tocopherol).
