Nasal gel designed to remove multi-resistant organisms, including Staphylococcus aureus. It acts as a long-term antimicrobial barrier. It is used to prevent infection. Suitable for antimicrobial cleansing of the nasal cavity before surgery.
Prontoderm Nasal gel is a medical device used to mechanically cleanse the nasal cavity. The aim of cleansing is to limit the growth, spread and transmission of multidrug-resistant microorganisms (MDRO) and thus prevent infections. It acts on microorganisms of the MRSA / VRE / ESBL type, including Staphylococcus aureus.
What are Multi-drug resistant organisms (MDROs)?
Man has a large number of microbes on his body, even multi-resistant ones that are resistant to one or more groups of antibiotics . These organisms are common on our skin and mucous membranes and normally live in harmony with us. However, if they penetrate the weakened human body , they can cause complications in the form of milder and more serious infections .
Infections caused by multi-resistant organisms are difficult to treat due to the resistance of these microbes to commonly used antibiotics . Therefore, it is appropriate in certain situations to remove these organisms from the skin and mucous membranes of the body in a targeted manner and thus prevent the prevention of possible infections .
Indications for Prontoderm Nasal gel
- Removal (decolonization) of multi-resistant organisms by mechanical cleaning.
- Suitable for cleaning before surgery.
- The effect of a long-term antimicrobial barrier as a prevention of recurrence (recolonization) by transient microflora.
- Inhibition of MDRO growth, spread and transmission.

How to use Prontoderm Nasal gel
Clean the nose with Prontoderm Nasal gel three times a day . First, clean the nasal cavity of any dried crust and secretions. Then apply Prontoderm Nasal gel to a cotton swab and clean the nose with the gel.
Unless otherwise recommended by your doctor, Prontoderm should be used for a maximum of 15 days (1 to 3 cleansing cycles of 3 to 5 days). If you are using the products as part of preoperative preparation, start cleansing your body three days before the planned operation . The remaining products can be used after the operation.
How to completely cleanse the body

0.1% Polyaminopropylbiguanide (Polyhexanide), Glycerin, Hydroxyethylcellulose, excipients
Limitations
Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients. Use the product so that it does not get into the middle and inner ear and into the eyes! Do not use in combination with anionic surfactants as this may impair performance. Before using Prontoderm, remove any soap or emulsion residues from the skin with water. The use of other products concomitantly with Prontoderm Nasal gel should be avoided.
Pregnancy and lactation: No data are available to indicate mutagenic or embryotoxic effects of the ingredients. Due to the lack of systemic absorption of polyhexanide, transfer of this substance to breast milk is unlikely. However, due to insufficient clinical experience in pregnant and lactating women, neonates and young children, Prontoderm Nasal gel should only be used in these cases after careful clinical consideration.

Intended for use only on intact skin and mucous membranes. Not intended for infusions or injections! Don't swallow. If swallowed
, rinse mouth, drink plenty of water and consult a doctor. In case of contact with eyes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water, including under the eyelids. In case of persistent eye irritation, consult a specialist. Close the container immediately after each use. Use only undamaged bottles. Store bottles out of direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children!
