Soventol - Gel is an antihistamine. Antihistamines are active ingredients that weaken or neutralize the effect of the body's own messenger histamine.

Soventol - Gel is used to relieve mild to moderate reactions to insect bites (e.g. mosquito bites) with itching.

Contraindications

Soventol Gel must not be used

if you are allergic to bamipin lactate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.

Soventol - Gel must not be used if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, as no clinical data and animal studies are available.

application

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Apply a thin layer of Soventol gel to the skin. As far as your condition allows, you can also gently massage in the gel. Repeat application at 1⁄2 hour intervals as needed.

side effects

Large-area applications of Soventol - Gel, especially on inflamed areas, should be avoided, since the absorption of large amounts of the active ingredient bamipin through the skin into the circulatory system can occur, which can result in undesirable effects.

Very rare (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people): hypersensitivity reactions (local allergic reactions, skin inflammation, hives); slight burning sensation after application, which usually subsides after a few minutes. Restlessness and confusion as well as dilation of the pupils in children, especially tiredness in adults.
Experience has shown that the side effects disappear completely after the treatment is stopped.

When using Soventol - Gel for weeping acute eczema (inflamed areas of skin) there is a risk of deterioration (see point 2 "Particular caution is required when using Soventol - Gel).
