Iron is involved in the formation of hemoglobin (red blood pigment) and is therefore important for oxygen transport. Iron alone can sometimes not be enough, because co-factors (B vitamins, copper and vitamin C) are important for an effective iron metabolism. The need for iron is often higher in women, endurance athletes and people who are growing. Vegans and vegetarians should also ensure adequate iron intake. Iron Complex from Pure Encapsulations® contains easily bioavailable iron (ferrous glycinate) as well as vegetable iron from the "Phytavail complex", which is obtained from brown mustard (Brassica juncea). This specially cultivated mustard is rich in natural iron. Iron Complex is particularly effective because it also contains the supporting co-factors.
