WHAT PROTAGENT IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR
This medicine is an artificial tear fluid that contains povidone. It forms a
wetting and protective layer on the surface of the eye. Protagent prevents eye irritation
due to insufficient production of tear fluid ("dry eyes") as well as
damage to the corneal epithelium caused by eyelid veins.
Protagent eye drops are used for the symptomatic treatment of "dry eye" (due to lack or insufficient tear production).

What Protagent contains
- The active ingredient is: Povidone 20mg/ml. 1 ml (= approx. 30 drops) contains 20 mg povidone (poly(1-vinyl-2pyrrolidone).
- The other ingredients are: benzalkonium chloride, boric acid, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide for pH adjustment, purified water.
