Traditional herbal medicine used to relieve the urge to cough and to encourage the clearing of thick phlegm in coughs associated with a cold.
This medicinal product is a traditional herbal medicinal product that is only registered for the stated areas of application because it has been used for many years.

Contraindications
Do not take BRONCHOSTOP sine cough syrup if you are allergic to thyme, marshmallow root, any other member of the mint family or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).

There are no known interactions with other drugs.
Pregnancy and lactation
In the absence of sufficient data, use during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
BRONCHOSTOP sine cough syrup contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate and propyl parahydroxybenzoate as preservatives.
These can cause allergic reactions, which can also occur later (see "BRONCHOSTOP sine cough syrup must not be taken").
BRONCHOSTOP sine cough syrup contains xylitol.
Xylitol can have a mild laxative effect. The calorie value is 2.4 kcal/g xylitol.
BRONCHOSTOP sine cough syrup contains raspberry juice concentrate, which contains sucrose, glucose and fructose.
This medicinal product contains 66 mg fructose per 15 ml BRONCHOSTOP sine cough syrup.
Talk to your doctor before you (or your child) take/are given this medicine if your doctor has told you that you (or your child) have an intolerance to some sugars or if you have hereditary fructose intolerance (HFI) - a rare congenital disease in which fructose cannot be broken down - has been identified.
BRONCHOSTOP sine cough syrup contains propylene glycol.
This medicinal product contains 33.3 mg propylene glycol per 15 ml.
application
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The recommended dose is:
Adults and adolescents 12 years and older:
15 ml every 3 to 4 hours (4 to 6 times a day; total daily dose up to 90 ml)
Children 4-11 years:
7.5 ml every 3 to 4 hours (4 to 6 times daily; total daily dose up to 45 ml)
Children aged 2-3 years:
After consultation with the doctor, 7.5 ml can be administered every 3 to 4 hours (4 to 6 times a day; total daily dose up to 45 ml).
Use in children under 2 years of age:
Use in children under 2 years of age cannot be recommended due to insufficient data and medical advice should be sought.
Method of administration:
For oral use.
Take BRONCHOSTOP sine cough syrup undiluted by pouring the dose indicated above into the enclosed measuring cup. The measuring cup is graduated between 2.5 ml and 20 ml.
If necessary, you can also drink BRONCHOSTOP sine cough syrup diluted in water or warm tea.
Duration of use:
If you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 5 days, contact your doctor.
side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Hypersensitivity reactions and gastrointestinal complaints have been observed with medicinal products containing thyme. The frequency of occurrence is not known.

The active ingredients are:
15 ml (= 16.7 g) contain:
0.12 g thyme dry extract (Thymi herba, drug-extract ratio (DEV) = 7-13:1, extractant: water)
0.83 g marshmallow root liquid extract (Althaeae radix, drug-extract ratio (DEV) = 1:13, extractant water)
The other ingredients are:
