Bruxism is the technical term for teeth grinding and clenching, which causes mechanical wear and tear and can even lead to damage to the jaw joint. It manifests itself to varying degrees, especially during sleep. Since there is no cure yet, prevention with protective splints is the only solution.
The Brux Bite splint is a special bite splint made to maximally protect the teeth against damage and be comfortable for the user.
It is placed at night on the upper arch of the teeth to isolate the biting surfaces of the upper and lower teeth from contact with each other. At the same time, the thickness of the material reduces the force of pressure when clenching the teeth, and the chewing muscles can thus relax better.
The splint is made of a special, biocompatible, thermoplastic material that can be adjusted individually by heating it in hot water, even repeatedly.
The biting surface is made of solid material to effectively protect the teeth. The side part that touches the gums and cheeks is made of a soft material and can be adjusted by trimming as needed after splint calibration.
The splint comes in three transparent colors - light blue, light green and transparent. Since the splint is only sold in one, universal size and is adjusted to the user by calibration, we recommend consultation with a dentist in case of problematic teeth, gums, braces, etc. The splint must not be used for the first teeth.
The package includes a transparent box for storing the splint.
