easypharm Easyangin Spray 30 ml

easyangin is a spray for local application in the mouth and throat.
easyangin contains the germicide (antiseptic) chlorhexidine and the local analgesic lidocaine.
easyangin is used for supportive, short-term local treatment of mild to moderately severe inflammation of the throat and mouth (sore throat, pharyngitis, hoarseness, inflammation of the mouth and throat [pharyngitis] and gums [gingivitis, stomatitis and aphthae]).

If you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 3 days, contact a doctor. 

Contraindications

easyanginmust NOT be used

• if you are allergic to chlorhexidine or lidocaine (or a similar narcotic) or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
• for larger, fresh wounds in the mouth and throat
• by children under 6 years of age
• if you suffer from bronchial asthma or other respiratory diseases that are associated with pronounced hypersensitivity of the airways. Inhaling easyangin can make you short of breath or trigger an asthma attack. 

interactions

Beta-blockers (medicines for high blood pressure and certain heart conditions) and cimetidine (certain medicines for stomach and duodenal problems) can increase the side effects of high doses of lidocaine.

Do not use at the same time as other germicidal agents (antiseptics), as the effects weaken each other.

Taking easyangin with food, drink and alcohol
Avoid eating or drinking immediately after using the spray to reduce the risk of choking.

Pregnancy
and breast-feeding If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
In the absence of sufficient data, use during pregnancy and breast-feeding is not recommended.

application

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Type of application:
For use in the mouth and throat.

The recommended dosage is:

Adults (18+):
3 to 5 sprays 6 to 10 times per day.
A maximum daily dose of 50 sprays must not be exceeded.

Children from 6 years and adolescents (12-18 years):
2 to 3 sprays 3 to 5 times a day.
A maximum daily dose of 25 sprays must not be exceeded.

This medicine should not be used for more than 3 days. If the symptoms do not improve within 3 days, a doctor must be consulted. 

side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

• Rarely, taste disorders, numbness of the tongue and allergic skin and mucous membrane reactions can occur. Rashes and inflammatory skin reactions (dermatitis) have been reported. Temporary taste impairment is possible with long-term use. With long-term use of preparations containing chlorhexidine, discoloration of the tooth surface can occur, but this can be removed again with dental care; tongue discoloration is also possible.
• Hypersensitivity reactions (allergic/anaphylactic reactions) such as skin rash, itching, swollen face, shortness of breath, dizziness and low blood pressure may occur very rarely.
• Menthol or cineole can trigger hypersensitivity reactions (including dyspnea) in sensitized patients.
• Easyangin can cause laryngeal spasms in infants and children under 2 years of age, resulting in severe breathing difficulties. If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. This also applies to side effects that are not listed in this leaflet.

composition

The active substances are: chlorhexidine gluconate and lidocaine hydrochloride.
1 ml solution contains 2 mg chlorhexidine gluconate and 0.5 mg lidocaine hydrochloride.
1 spray contains 0.17 mg chlorhexidine gluconate and 0.04 mg lidocaine hydrochloride.

The other ingredients are: ethanol, glycerol, menthol, cineol, sodium saccharin, citric acid monohydrate, purified water.
