  • Under no circumstances should you take easybronchial stop junior together with certain medications for depression (monoamine oxidase inhibitors or selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors);
  • Concomitant use with drugs that inhibit a specific enzyme system in the liver and thus the breakdown of dextromethorphan can lead to an increase in the concentration and increased risk of side effects of dextromethorphan, such as
    • fluoxetine and paroxetine (these are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors used for depression);
    • sertraline, bupropion (medicines for depression);
    • amiodarone, quinidine, flecainide and propafenone (medicines for irregular heartbeat);
    • haloperidol, perphenazine and thioridazine (medicines for psychosis);
    • methadone (strong pain reliever);
    • cinacalcet (medicine used to treat overactive parathyroid glands);
    • cimetidine (medicine against too much stomach acid);
    • terbinafine (medicine used to treat fungal infections).
  • Concomitant use of easybronchial stop junior and sedatives such as benzodiazepines or related medicines increases the risk of drowsiness, difficulty breathing (respiratory depression), coma and can be life-threatening. For this reason, concomitant use should only be considered when there are no other treatment options.
    • However, if your doctor prescribes easybronchial stop junior together with sedative medicines, the dose and duration of the concomitant treatment should be limited by your doctor.
    • Please tell your doctor about all sedative medicines you are taking and follow your doctor's dose recommendation closely. It might be helpful to inform friends or relatives to watch out for the above signs and symptoms. Contact your doctor if you experience such symptoms.
