Equitop Pronutrin® is a supplementary feed for horses to support normal stomach function.
Equitop Pronutrin® can be used for existing stomach ulcers, which play a role in up to 60% of all sport horses. Pay attention to any symptoms your horse shows, because all too often it's the stomach.
We know from human medicine that stress can make you sick. The latest studies show that horses are also increasingly suffering from this. Equitop Pronutrin® helps you to effectively combat the symptoms.
The symptoms of stress disorders, such as damage to the stomach lining, are extremely ambiguous. That's why it's all the more important that you watch your horse carefully and look closely.
Areas of application
Equitop Pronutrin® to support normal stomach function, e.g. B. during or before:
- high performance demands
- highly concentrated concentrate feed
- Feed change
- Withdrawal or refusal of food
- Transport
- Weaning of foals
- Ranking conflicts
- The operation
- Diseases
as well as to compensate for stress-related strain on the gastrointestinal tract and during long-term therapy with steroidal and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (pain relievers or anti-inflammatory drugs).
Scientific studies and extensive field studies in Germany and Scandinavia demonstrate the positive influence of dietary supplementation of Equitop Pronutrin® in clinical symptoms or gastroscopic evidence of gastric mucosal lesions and ulcers (ulcers).
An Equitop Pronutrin® diet is therefore always indicated if gastroscopically diagnosed gastric mucosal lesions or, after excluding other causes, the following suspected clinical symptoms are detected:
- weight loss
- Decreased performance
- Apathetic behavior
- Low or selective appetite
- Diarrhea
- Soft or firm feces
- Recurrent or postprandial colic
- Bruxism (chewing, grinding teeth)
- Burst
- Frequent flehmen
And for foals additionally:
- Reflux
- Salivating
- Stopping sucking
- Colic with supine position
To avoid relapses or before known stressful situations, Equitop Pronutrin® can also be fed as a preventive measure.
Mode of action
An important component in Equitop Pronutrin® is Apolectol®, a patented pectin-lecithin-glycerin complex. Equitop Pronutrin® contains 77% Apolectol®.
The properties of the individual components of Apolectol® complement each other to create a comprehensive dietary effect. The pectins counteract the acidification of the stomach contents by prolonging the postprandial pH increase and inhibiting bile acid reflux. At the same time, pectins stabilize the natural mucus.
The lecithin-glycerin component strengthens the hydrophobic protective layer of the gastric mucosa.
Apolectol® protects the sensitive mucous membrane in two ways and in a natural way: It stabilizes or regenerates the barrier against stomach acid and pepsin and also counteracts hyperacidity in the stomach.

Feeding recommendation
50 g per 100 kg of body weight mixed with the crib food once a day.
For nursing foals, the required amount of Equitop Pronutrin® (25 g - 50 g) is mixed with 3 times the amount of lukewarm water. After 2 to 3 minutes, the resulting porridge can be administered directly into the foal's mouth using a syringe or plastic bottle.
The horses generally absorb Equitop Pronutrin® well. However, many animals show a reduced appetite due to stomach problems. Some people also have to get used to the new taste. In these cases, the dosage divided into 2 x daily and initially reduced usually helps (if food intake is delayed or poor, the dosage can be divided into 25 g per 100 kg of body weight twice daily or initially halved to get used to it and up to the recommended amount over 2 to 3 days (measuring cup inside) and, if necessary, additionally mixing with your favorite food or with wet food, such as wheat bran (possibly with molasses) or mash (linseed, wheat bran, crushed oats). Equitop Pronutrin® should be
fed
for a period of at least If the horse's condition has normalized or improved, the diet should still be continued for another 2 weeks to reduce the risk of relapse. If necessary, continuous or interval administration is also possible . regarding husbandry, training, feeding) or even medication therapy must be decided by the veterinarian.
