barium carb. has its effective range not only in the vascular system, but also on the heart and on the various endocrine glands, which also experience a weakening and a tendency to regress, especially in old age, and thus generally mean a loss of vitality.

Barium iod., is similarly effective via the iodine portion with a strong relationship to the thyroid.
