Nutrilon Protein Supplement is a dietary food suitable for infant nutrition from birth. It is indicated for babies who were born prematurely and have an extremely low birth weight (less than 1000 grams). Special nutrition increases the amount of protein in milk. Nutrilon Protein Supplement is added to either breast milk or baby milk.

Dosage and method of use
For premature babies with a birth weight of < 1000 g, the recommended protein intake according to ESPGHAN 2010 is 3.6 - 4.1 g / 100 kcal (4.0 - 4.5 g / kg / day).
For use with breast milk:
If possible, measure the protein content of breast milk* and add the breast milk enrichment product as directed. Then add the appropriate amount of Nutrilon Protein Supplement to achieve the required amount of protein of 3.6 - 4.1 g/100 kcal. It is recommended to take measurements of the serial concentration of urea in the child.
For use in combination with infant formula for premature infants:
Infant formula for premature babies Nutrilon Nenatal contains 3.3 g of protein/100 kcal (2.6 g/100 ml). In order to achieve a protein level that cannot be achieved with conventional nutrition, 0.4 - 0.9 g of Nutrilon Protein Supplement should be added per 100 ml of infant formula for premature babies. It is recommended to measure the serum concentration of urea in the child.
* If no measurement is made, use the protein content of breast milk as a guideline: 1.5 g/100 ml (2.3 g/100 kcal).
