Kampot pepper is grown in Kampot province located in the very south of East Asian Cambodia. This is an area that, thanks to its maritime climate and geological conditions, allows local farmers to produce the highest quality pepper in the world. It is not for nothing that this pepper received a protected geographical indication, similar to French champagne.
Dark red pepper can literally be called a berry selection. These are strictly selected red grains achieving the highest color saturation of their skin. This reveals the really high fructose content and the unique taste profile of these grains, which you will fall in love with. Thanks to careful selection in accordance with the strict quality requirements for pepper exported from Kampot, set by the Kampot Pepper Association, only the best grains are always selected by hand.
In the mouth, the rare dark red Kampot pepper unleashes an explosion of fruity notes accompanied by a milder burning sensation. Dark red peppercorns initially release aromatic notes of blood orange, cranberry and elderberry, underpinned by characteristic notes of cedar and honeydew with a subtle touch of tobacco leaves. After a while, the heart of dark red pepper begins to show, reminiscent of yeast dough, new spices along with roasted malt. It is a very dense aroma that gradually transitions to Assam black tea, and in the end, cedar notes again appear in it.
Thanks to the high content of fructose, which gives red pepper an intense fruit taste, you can experiment with this pepper when mixing drinks or preparing sweet desserts. Give it space during Christmas baking, perfectly underline the taste of fish or poultry with it. And surprise your guests with its refined taste and aroma.
