Rhinospray Plus essential oils - nasal spray 10 ml

Rhinospray plus contains tramazoline hydrochloride as a medically active ingredient. This active ingredient causes the nasal mucosa to decongest when you have a cold. Shortly after spraying into the nose, the obstructed airways are cleared again. Essential oils enhance the feeling of free nasal breathing. The effect comes on quickly and lasts for several hours.

Rhinospray plus is used to reduce swelling of the mucous membranes in acute allergic or non-allergic colds.

The fine meter creates a fine, dense spray mist. It also wets hidden mucous membrane bays in the nose and penetrates to the mouths of the paranasal sinuses.

Contraindications

Rhinospray plus must not be used

• if you are allergic to tramazoline hydrochloride, benzalkonium chloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);
• if you suffer from dry nasal mucosa diseases with crusting and crusting (rhinitis sicca) or increased pressure in the eye (narrow-angle glaucoma);
• if you have had certain brain surgeries.

Rhinospray plus is not suitable for children under 6 years of age.

interactions

If you take certain medicines for depression (tricyclic antidepressants or MAOIs) or vasoconstrictive medicines at the same time as Rhinospray plus, the effects on the cardiovascular system may lead to an increase in blood pressure. Concomitant use with tricyclic antidepressants can also lead to cardiac arrhythmia. Interactions with antihypertensive drugs or heart drugs (so-called alpha or beta blockers) can be complex and lead to various effects on the cardiovascular system.

Anesthetics, atropine sulphate (a drug used in ophthalmology, for example, to dilate the pupils), propranolol (to lower high blood pressure) and insulin (to treat diabetes) can increase the effects on the cardiovascular system.

Theophylline (medicine used to treat bronchial asthma) and its derivatives in high doses increase side effects.

Guanethidine and reserpine (medicines used to treat high blood pressure) can lead to an increase in blood pressure when used with Rhinospray plus.

Any central depression that may occur can be intensified by alcohol, sleeping pills, sedatives and certain psychotropic drugs (neuroleptics).

Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.

Rhinospray plus should not be used during pregnancy and should only be used during breastfeeding after a doctor has carefully weighed up the benefits and risks.

application

Adults, adolescents and children from the age of 6 years
If necessary, spray one spray into each nostril up to 4 times a day.

Infants, toddlers and children under 6 years of age
Rhinospray plus is only suitable for use in adults, adolescents and children over 6 years of age (see section 'Do not use Rhinospray plus').

Duration of use
Because of the risk of damage to the nasal mucosa, this medicine must not be used for more than 7 days (see section 'Warning and precautions'). A break of at least 10 days must be observed before starting another treatment.

*These side effects may be signs of a hypersensitivity reaction.

In particularly sensitive patients, there may be damage to the nasal mucosa due to the content of essential oil components. The normal function of the ciliated epithelium of the nose can be impaired to varying degrees.
