Sialin-Sigma solution is a saliva substitute for use in the oral cavity.

1. WHAT IS SIALIN-SIGMA SOLUTION AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR?

Sialin-Sigma solution is a saliva substitute for use in the oral cavity.
Sialin-Sigma solution is used for the permanent moistening of the mouth and throat mucous membranes in cases of dry mouth (caused for example by radiation therapy in the head and neck area).

2. WHAT MUST YOU NOTE BEFORE USING SIALIN-SIGMA
SOLUTION?

Sialin-Sigma solution must not be used
if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to the active substances or any of the other ingredients of Sialin-Sigma solution.
Special care is required when using Sialin-Sigma solution.
For reasons of hygiene and to avoid the transmission of pathogens, a
spray bottle should only be used by one and the same person.
Using Sialin-Sigma Solution with other medicinal products
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are using or have
recently used any other medicinal products , including medicines obtained without a prescription.
So far, no interactions with other drugs are known.
Using Sialin-Sigma Solution with food and drink
The simultaneous consumption of food and drink can reduce the effect of Sialin-Sigma Solution. It should therefore be used separately from the consumption of food or drink.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.
There are no studies on the use of Sialin-Sigma solution during
pregnancy and breastfeeding. However, due to the active ingredients it contains, it is
safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Driving and using machines
No effects on the ability to drive and use machines are expected.
Important information about some of the ingredients of Sialin-Sigma Solution
Sialin-Sigma Solution contains sorbitol. Please only use Sialin-Sigma solution after consulting your doctor if you know that you suffer from a sugar intolerance.
Sialin-Sigma solution contains methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (E218). This can cause allergic reactions, including late reactions.

3. HOW TO USE SIALIN-SIGMA SOLUTION?

Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
Moisten the oral and pharyngeal mucous membranes with
Sialin-Sigma solution several times a day with several sprays as required .
In general, the effects last for 1 to 3 hours.
If possible, do not bring the opening of the spray pump into contact with the oral mucosa. The spray attachment can be cleaned with hot water.
The application should take place separately from the consumption of food or drink.
The duration of use is not limited, but if your symptoms worsen or
there is no improvement, you should definitely consult a doctor.
If you use more Sialin-Sigma solution than you should There
are no known signs of overdose.

4. WHAT SIDE EFFECTS ARE POSSIBLE?

Like all medicines, Sialin-Sigma Solution can cause side effects, although not everybody gets
them.
Immune system disorders
Allergic reactions, including late reactions. The frequency is not known.
Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if any of the listed side effects gets
serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet.

5. HOW TO STORE SIALIN-SIGMA SOLUTION

Do not store above 25 ° C. Store in the original package in order to protect from light.
Store drug out of reach of children.
Do not use the medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the label and the carton after "EXP" . The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.
After opening the bottle for the first time, Sialin-Sigma solution cannot be used for longer than 2 months.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your
pharmacist how to throw away medicines you no longer need. This measure helps to protect the environment.

- The active substances are:
1 ml contains
carmellose sodium 5.00 mg
sodium chloride 0.85 mg
potassium chloride 1.20 mg
potassium hydrogen phosphate 0.35 mg
calcium chloride 0.1115 mg
magnesium chloride 0.03 mg
- the other ingredients are : Sorbitol (E 420), methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (E 218), purified water.
1 spray corresponds to 0.12 ml of solution
