The Alltest FOB self-diagnostic test is designed to detect occult bleeding in the stool , which is not easily recognizable to the naked eye. Such bleeding can be caused by various disorders of the digestive system, such as ulcers, polyps, colitis, diverticulitis, anal fissures, hemorrhoids or tumors. These health problems often do not cause obvious symptoms in the early stages, which is why testing for the presence of blood in the stool is an important screening tool for the early detection of digestive tract diseases. The FOB test is an immunochromatographic method that uses highly specific monoclonal antibodies to capture even very small amounts of blood in the stool. The advantage of the test is that there are no dietary restrictions to follow before performing it (except during menstruation, when the results may not be reliable). Use
Bring the test, sample, and buffer to room temperature (15-30°C) before testing.
- Stool sampling: The stool sample should be collected on a paper towel. It is important to use the paper towel provided on all types of toilets to prevent contamination of the sample with any chemicals and to avoid sample alteration.
- Stool Sample Processing: Unscrew the cap of the sample collection tube and then randomly insert the sample collection applicator into the stool sample at least 3 different locations. Do not collect the stool sample on the applicator.
- Screw and tighten the cap onto the sample collection tube, then shake the sample collection tube vigorously to mix the sample and extraction buffer.
- Bring the test to room temperature before opening the test package. Remove the test cassette from the foil pouch and use it as soon as possible. For best results, perform the test immediately after opening the foil pouch.
- Hold the sample collection tube vertically and open the cap on the sample collection tube. Invert the sample collection tube and transfer 2 full drops of extracted specimen (approximately 80 μL) into the sample well (S) of the test cassette, then start the timer. Avoid trapping air bubbles in the sample well (S).
- Read results after 5 minutes. Do not read after 10 minutes.
