Sampling and testing

  • Remove the cap from the extraction buffer tube and place it in the holder on the box.
  • Remove the sterile tampon from the bag. Do not touch its soft end!
  • Gently insert the swab end of the nasal swab into the left nostril (about 2 cm for an adult).
  • Wipe the inner part of the nostril 5-10 times in a circular motion.
  • It can be uncomfortable. Do not insert the tampon deeper if you feel strong resistance or pain.

  • Move the nasal swab to the other nostril and repeat the previous step in the same way. Make sure that a sufficient sample has been taken.
  • Insert the nasal swab into the extraction buffer tube and swirl for 10-15 seconds to mix the contents well. At the same time push the tip of the nasal swab to the bottom and side of the tube.
  • Press the swab against the wall of the tube to release as much liquid as possible from the swab and remove it.
  • Put the tampon in a plastic bag. Place the dropper cap firmly on the tube and place it back in the holder on the box.
  • Remove the test cartridge from the sealed bag and place it on a flat surface. The test should be performed as soon as possible, but no later than one hour after opening the bag.
  • Turn the tube with the extracted sample upside down and add 3 drops to each well of the test cassette (S).
  • Start timing. Do not move the test cartridge during the test.
  • Read the test result in 10 minutes, do not read the results after 20 minutes.

Evaluate the result according to the package leaflet

  • Positive result: Contact your doctor / general practitioner or local health facility immediately for a confirmatory PCR test. Follow local guidelines for self-isolation. Positive results do not exclude bacterial infection or co-infection with other viruses.
  • Negative result: A negative result does not exclude the possibility of infection with the coronavirus or influenza type A/B. Continue to follow all applicable rules regarding contact with others and all protective measures. If you suspect the disease of COVID-19 or influenza, repeat the test after 1-2 days, because the coronavirus / influenza virus cannot be accurately detected in all stages of infection.
