Alpinamed cough suppressant syrup 100 ml
Alpinamed Hustensolver - oral syrup is a herbal medicine to relieve coughing in respiratory catarrhs. The active ingredient in this medicine, a dry extract of ivy leaves, dilates the bronchi and dissolves viscous secretions (mucus) in the airways. This makes it easier to cough up and reduces the urge to cough. If you do not feel better or if you feel worse after a week, contact your doctor.
Contraindications
Do not take Alpinamed Hustensolver - Syrup if you are allergic to dry extract of ivy leaves or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
Caution is recommended in patients with gastritis or peptic ulcer disease.
interactions
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or might take/use any other medicines. Concomitant use with antitussives (medicines used to suppress coughing) such as codeine or dextromethorphan without medical advice is not recommended.
Taking Alpinamed Hustensolver - Syrup with food and drinks
Alpinamed Hustensolver - Syrup can be taken independently of meals. Interactions when taking Alpinamed Hustensolver - Syrup and food or drinks at the same time have not yet become known.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. As insufficient data are available, use during pregnancy and lactation cannot be recommended.
Alpinamed Hustensolver - Syrup contains fructose, sodium benzoate and propylene glycol
application
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The recommended dose is:
Children:
- 1 - 11 months: 1 ml twice a day
- 1 - 3 years: 1 ml 3 times a day
- 4 - 11 years: 2 ml 3 to 5 times a day
Adults and young people aged 12 and over:
- 4 ml 3 to 4 times a day
Alpinamed Hustensolver - Syrup should only be used in infants after consultation with the doctor. Use in infants younger than 1 month cannot be recommended due to insufficient data.
Method of administration: For oral use.
side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Rarely (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people) allergic reactions (difficulty breathing, swelling, skin rashes with or without blistering) have been observed. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhea can occur frequently (may affect up to 1 in 10 people).
composition
- The active substance is: dry extract of ivy leaves. 100 g contain 0.792 g dry extract of ivy leaves (drug-extract ratio (DEV) = 6 – 7:1), extraction agent: ethanol 40% (m/m)
- The other ingredients are: fructose, potassium sorbate, maltodextrin, sodium benzoate (E211), povidone K 30, propylene glycol, flavoring (cherry juice flavor), simethicone, purified water.
- Note for diabetics: 1 ml Alpinamed Hustensolver - Syrup contains 0.02 BE.
