Sun and UV light

The sun has many good sides. However, it can also damage the skin. UV rays from sunlight sometimes penetrate deep into our skin and can damage the genetic information (DNA) in the nucleus of skin cells.
Although the human skin has a natural repair mechanism, the body's own repair system cannot repair all UV damage with increasing age or strong sunlight. This can lead to chronic photodamage even in deeper skin regions or becomes visible in the form of premature skin aging (wrinkling).

Selected sun protection factors of the latest generation offer reliable protection against UVA and UVB rays in all ATEIA® sun protection products in accordance with EU recommendations.
DNA repair enzymes optimise the effect of sun protection in all ATEIA® sun protection products.
This simultaneous application of innovative repair concepts with DNA repair enzymes serves as protection against the potentially harmful effects of UV light in the non-visible, deeper skin regions.

DNA repair enzymes

DNA repair enzymes are DNA-binding proteins that cause the body's own repair of the skin cell in the cell nucleus. This principle of action was copied by an international team of dermatologists in the course of a research project to develop an innovative sun protection from nature. Microbes that were exposed to the highest levels of UV radiation thousands of years ago and are equipped with an efficient repair mechanism served as "patterns".

Why Nopasome®

All sun protection and care products from ATEIA® contain a combination of 2 differently effective DNA repair enzymes in a liposomal formulation (photosomes, ultrasomes) and a plant-based nopal cactus extract (Nopasome®).
This unique active ingredient complex* can support the body's own repair mechanisms of the skin cells during sunbathing and thus prevent skin damage caused by UV light or premature skin aging.
Photosomes activate the skin's repair mechanism in daylight and ultrasomes at night (24 h-action). The photosomes and ultrasomes are bound in a liposomal formulation and can thus penetrate into deeper layers of the skin.
The nopal cactus can soothe and prevent skin irritation due to its high content of polysaccharides. Nopasome® optimizes the preventive sunscreen treatment.
In addition, nopasomes® promote a natural, enhanced tanning of the skin.

Application

Apply ATEIA® sunscreen abundantly to cleansed skin of the face and body half an hour before sun exposure.
Repeat regularly during the day, especially if you sweat profusely or after swimming and drying off.
Restrictions on use Hypersensitivity to any of the components.

Advice on the safe use of sunscreen

Despite using a sunscreen, do not stay in the sun for too long. Even with UV light protection, avoid direct sunlight at midday.
Sun protection is significantly reduced by using too small an amount. Avoid excessive sunbathing.
Do not expose infants and young children to direct sunlight.

Notes on packaging

A special can with airless system and self-priming pump ensures precise dosing, application in any position (360° function), maximum protection of the contents of the can against contamination by environmental influences and a minimum residual amount after use.
Remove the small plug-in closure on the dispenser head (= tamper-evident closure) before use. When using it for the first time, it is necessary to press the pump button several times until lotion comes out of the dispenser.

Do not store above 25°C. Use the contents within 6 months of opening.
