Ceremin 40 mg film-coated tablets contain a special extract called EGb 761® from the leaves of the ginkgo tree, which promotes blood circulation, particularly in the area of ​​very small blood vessels. In the brain as well as in the legs and arms, a better supply of blood and oxygen to the body tissue is brought about. At the same time, Ceremin 40 mg film-coated tablets protect the body tissue from the harmful effects of a lack of oxygen supply to the tissue.

Ceremin 40 mg film-coated tablets is a herbal medicinal product

  • for the treatment of symptoms of reduced brain performance with poor concentration and memory.
  • for use in cold hands and feet, symptoms such as tingling and pins and needles, problems with walking and in connection with mild circulatory disorders after a serious illness has been ruled out.

This medicine is used in adults.

Contraindications

Ceremin 40 mg film-coated tablets must not be taken

  • if you are allergic to ginkgo biloba or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
  • during pregnancy. 

interactions

No clinically relevant interactions were observed up to the recommended maximum daily dose of 240 mg dry extract from Ginkgo biloba leaves (EGb 761®) (equivalent to 6 Ceremin® 40 mg film-coated tablets). In higher doses, an influence on the metabolism of various other drugs cannot be ruled out, which could affect the potency and/or duration of action of the drugs concerned.

If this medicine is taken at the same time as anticoagulant medicines (such as phenprocoumon, warfarin), an influence on the effect cannot be ruled out. As a precaution, the coagulation values ​​should be checked regularly in such cases.

Taking Ceremin 40 mg film-coated tablets together with food and drinks
No intolerances have been reported to date.

Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility
This medicine must not be taken during pregnancy. 3/6 In the absence of sufficient studies, this medicine should not be used during breast-feeding. It is not known whether the components of the extract are excreted in breast milk.

No specific human studies have been conducted with Ginkgo biloba to investigate its effects on fertility. Studies in animal experiments gave no indication of any influence. 

application

Dosage:

For the treatment of symptoms associated with reduced brain performance: 
Adults over the age of 18 take 1-2 film-coated tablets 3 times a day.

For use in cold hands and feet, symptoms such as tingling and pins and needles, discomfort when walking in connection with circulatory disorders:
Adults over 18 years of age take 1 film-coated tablet 3 times a day.

Duration of use:

For the treatment of symptoms associated with a decrease in brain performance:
The treatment should last at least 8 weeks. If there is no improvement in symptoms after 3 months or if the symptoms of the disease worsen, the doctor must check whether the continuation of the treatment is justified.

For use in cold hands and feet, symptoms such as tingling and pins and needles, discomfort when walking in connection with circulatory disorders: 
After a treatment period of 8 weeks, it should be checked whether the continuation of the treatment is still justified.

Method of
administration For oral use.
Swallow the film-coated tablet whole with sufficient liquid (preferably a glass of drinking water). It can be taken independently of meals.

Use in children and adolescents
The use of Ceremin 40 mg film-coated tablets in children and adolescents under 18 years of age is not recommended.

side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The list includes all side effects that have become known under treatment with ginkgo biloba leaf dry extract, including those under higher doses or long-term treatment. The frequency with which these side effects occur is not known.

Bleeding of individual organs has been reported.
In addition, allergic skin reactions (skin reddening, skin swelling, itching) and hypersensitivity reactions can occur.

It can also lead to slight gastrointestinal complaints, headaches or dizziness. (Dizziness can also be a side effect of the present illness).

    1 film-coated tablet contains:
    40 mg dry extract of ginkgo biloba leaves (EGb 761®) (DEV = 35 - 67:1). The extract is quantified to 8.8 - 10.8 mg ginkgoflavone glycosides and 2.16 - 2.64 mg terpene lactones, of which 1.12 - 1.36 mg ginkgolides A, B and C and 1.04 - 1.28 mg bilobalide .
    First extraction agent acetone 60% m/m.
