Disturbed digestive processes often lead to flatulence. The increased gases are then present in the gastrointestinal tract as sluggish, fine-bubble foam. This makes the normal absorption of gases through the intestinal wall more difficult or even impossible. Due to its special surface effect, the simethicone present in Lefaxin chewable tablets causes the foam-like bubbles to disintegrate immediately after ingestion of the preparation. The gases released in this way can now escape naturally.
Taking Lefaxin chewable tablets leads to rapid relief from symptoms with a feeling of relief and eliminates the feeling of tension in the bloated stomach. Anxiety in the heart caused by displacement of the diaphragm also subsides after a short time.
The active ingredient itself is not absorbed into the bloodstream, but excreted unchanged.

The application takes place:

• Excessive gas formation and gas accumulation in the gastrointestinal area (meteorism) with symptoms such as flatulence, a feeling of fullness and a feeling of tension in the upper abdomen, which can be caused, for example, by swallowing air or by incorrect nutrition or diet.
• with increased gas formation after operations and Roemheld syndrome.
• to prepare the gastrointestinal area for diagnostic examinations to reduce gas shadows and to improve imaging and/or visualize the mucous membranes. 

Contraindications

Do not take Lefaxin chewable tablets if you are allergic to simethicone or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).

Although no interactions are known to date, influences on the absorption of other medicinal substances cannot be ruled out due to the surface-active properties of the active substance.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Since simethicone is not absorbed, Lefaxin chewable tablets can also be taken during pregnancy and breastfeeding

application

Unless otherwise prescribed, follow the dosage exactly.

For the treatment of gas and bloating, the following is recommended: 1-2 tablets are taken 3 times a day with or after meals. If necessary, 1 - 2 tablets can also be taken before going to bed.

In preparation for imaging diagnostic examinations in the abdominal area, 2 - 3 tablets are taken in adults on the day before the examination after each meal and in the morning of the examination day.

This dosage form is not suitable for children under 2 years of age.

The duration of use depends on the type and course of the symptoms. Lefaxin chewable tablets can be taken over a longer period of time if necessary.

How do you use Lefaxin chewable tablets?
Lefaxin chewable tablets are taken orally. Make sure that the tasty tablets are chewed thoroughly.

If the symptoms persist or if the expected success from the application does not occur, medical advice is required as soon as possible.
