Beppy foam tampons are designed for women who do not want to restrict themselves during their period. The Beppy foam tampon is comfortable when traveling, playing sports, swimming or saunas and can also be used for sex. It effectively captures the outgoing blood and, depending on the strength of the menstruation, lasts up to 8 hours. It is inserted deep into the vagina in front of the cervix. The Beppy tampon should be used immediately after unpacking.
Inserting and removing the Beppy foam tampon
- Before insertion, wash your hands and rinse them thoroughly to remove any soap residue.
- Unwrap the tampon from the packaging.
- To make it easier to insert the Beppy DRY tampon, you can lightly moisten it with clean water, vaginal gel or lubricant. Hold it between your thumb and middle finger with the indentation facing up and squeeze it between your fingers. Hold the Beppy WET tampon between your thumb and middle finger, with your index finger under the removal tab, with the slanted part facing down.
- Get into a position that is most comfortable for you to insert the tampon. This can be standing with one leg propped up on a stool, or squatting. With your free hand, spread your labia, insert the tampon, and use your index finger to push it all the way to the end of your vagina, toward the cervix.
- You can leave the Beppy foam tampon in place for up to eight hours. Depending on the strength of your period, you may need to change it sooner.
- Before removing the tampon, wash your hands and assume a position that is comfortable for you.
- Grasp the Beppy tampon with your index and middle fingers like tweezers and carefully remove it from the vagina. The raised edge on the other end of the tampon makes it easier to remove the Beppy DRY tampon; when removing the Beppy WET tampon, you can use the special loop. If you are unable to do this, change your position. The best position is to stand with one leg supported on a stool or squat widely, which will make it easier to reach the tampon. The tampon is easier to remove after urinating, when the pelvic floor muscles can be better relaxed. Alternatively, you can use vaginal douching, which will fill the tampon with fluid and slide it lower.
- Do not throw used Beppy foam tampons down the toilet.
How long can a Beppy tampon be left in place?
Use Beppy tampons during normal and heavy menstruation. The insertion time depends on the intensity of the bleeding, which varies from woman to woman during menstruation. Approximate insertion times can be, for example, 2-4 hours for heavy bleeding and 4-8 hours for lighter bleeding. Change tampons regularly. Before inserting a new tampon, remember to remove the old one. Beppy tampons can be inserted overnight for up to eight hours. After menstruation, remember to remove the last tampon!
Warning
If you leave the tampon in place for more than eight hours, the manufacturer no longer guarantees its safety and effectiveness. Beppy tampons are for single use only. Repeated use increases the risk of infection. Beppy tampons are not contraception! Do not use Beppy tampons outside of menstruation.
Do not use:
- If your hymen is intact
- After the expiration date (marked on each tampon package)
Important information about toxic shock syndrome (TSS):
Toxic shock syndrome is a serious, even fatal, condition that can be caused by tampon use.
What are the symptoms?
Early symptoms come on suddenly and are similar to the flu. Within a few minutes, a high fever of 102.2°F (39°C) or higher develops, which may be accompanied by vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, fainting, or a rash that resembles sunburn. Early recognition of TSS and prompt treatment are very important and can prevent serious complications.
What should I do if I suspect TSS?
If you experience the symptoms described above during or just after your period, REMOVE THE TAMPON AND CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY! It is important that you tell your doctor that you are on your period and that you have been using tampons.
Who is most at risk for TSS?
TSS can occur in any woman who uses tampons during her period, with a higher risk found in women under 30 years of age.
How to prevent TSS?
To minimize your risk of TSS, use tampons with the lowest absorbency. To prevent TSS, avoid using tampons and use pads instead.
If you have had symptoms of TSS in the past or have questions about TSS, contact your doctor. In general, if you are unable to remove a tampon, you should see a doctor, emergency room, or gynecologist.
