Biogaia ProTectis 20 tablets

BioGaia is a popular line of preparations containing a probiotic strain called Lactobacillus reuteri Protectis (DSM 17938®). These beneficial bacteria have been isolated from breast milk, are therefore inherent to the human body, and are among the strains with which a large number of clinical trials have been confirmed to have a positive effect on the human body. BioGaia chewable tablets contain live active bacteria (100 million per dose) that support the natural intestinal microflora. BioGaia chewable tablets are intended for children from three years of age and adults.

What makes BioGaia different from other probiotics?

The effects of live, active bacteria are strain specific. This means that each strain of a particular species differs from the others in its effectiveness or mechanism of action. BioGaia tablets contain Lactobacillus reuteri from the lactobacilli family, with a patented Lactobacillus Reuteri Protectis strain (DSM 17938 ). The natural environment of the living bacterium Lactobacillus reuteri Protectis is the human digestive tract, which is why it is particularly successful here.

For this and many other reasons, Lactobacillus reuteri Protectis was chosen as the ideal bacterial species for all BioGaia products :

• It is one of the first bacterial species to become a natural part of the infant microflora immediately after delivery. Most other bacterial strains remain in the digestive tract only temporarily because they come from the diet and are therefore excluded from the body. 
• In terms of efficacy and safety, it is one of the most scientifically documented living active bacteria. 
• It produces an antimicrobial substance called reuterin that prevents the spread of many pathogenic microorganisms.
• At the same time, it supports the digestive tract by other bacteria that form part of the normal intestinal microflora.

Why and when to take Biogaia tablets?

Intestinal microflora means all microorganisms (bacteria and yeasts) that colonize the intestinal mucosa. So-called. intestinal microbiology is considered by experts to be a separate organ, and current scientific research constantly brings new insights into its importance. Sufficiently numerous intestinal microflora in the right composition is important not only for the proper functioning of the gastrointestinal tract - it is also crucial for the effective natural defense of the organism, modulates the nervous system, produces vitamins, promotes detoxification, etc. Incorrect composition of intestinal microflora (eg after diarrhea, after use antibiotics, due to an inappropriate diet, can (not only) cause children to become more ill or have various digestive problems and other problems. Probiotics is one of the recommended ways to deal with problems.

Dosage:

BioGaia tablets can be given to children over three years of age. One dose contains at least 100 million live L. reuteri Protectis®. BioGaia chewable tablets have a popular strawberry flavor. One to two tablets a day are taken.
