Colomed 20 Capsules

Colomed is a dietary food that was developed for the special needs of antibiotic-associated diarrhea (AAD). The four contained probiotic bacterial strains help to restore the balance of the damaged intestinal flora. The special manufacturing process protects the sensitive bacterial cultures from gastric acid.

Bifidobacterium bifidum is a natural inhabitant of the human intestine. Bifidobacterium bifidum is able to metabolize different types of sugars. At the end of the complex metabolic pathway, which is used by the bacterium to produce energy, there is lactic and acetic acid. Bifidobacterium bifidum works much more efficiently than most Lactobacillus species.

Enterococcus faecium belongs to the lactic acid bacteria. It is also found in the human intestine.

Lactobacillus casei and Lactobacillus rhamnosus are also lactic acid bacteria and homofermentatively ferment lactose into lactic acid. They are found not only in milk and dairy products, but also in meat, cereals and fish. The resulting lactic acid worsens the living conditions for pathogenic germs in the intestine.

Galenic innovation from Colomed:

Bacteria are living organisms that have different levels of sensitivity to various environmental influences such as temperature, pressure and humidity. In the course of the production process and storage, these physical influences cannot be avoided. In order to ensure the bacteria's ability to multiply, they must be protected from these influences. The special feature of the bacteria in Colomed is the double coating (coating).
The inner layer: consists of a peptide and protein matrix. It ensures a pH-dependent release. The bacteria can thus pass through the gastric passage unharmed and enter the intestine, where they multiply and enrich the intestinal flora.
The outer layer consists of a polysaccharide matrix that protects the bacteria from moisture, temperature and mechanical influences during production and throughout the entire shelf life.

Recommended intake:

Unless otherwise prescribed, take 1 capsule 2-1 times a day with sufficient liquid.
