Duphalac contains a laxative (laxative) called lactulose. It softens the stool and facilitates its passage by attracting water to the intestine. The product does not absorb into the body.
Duphalac can be used to treat constipation (uncommon bowel movements, hard and dry bowel movements) and in conditions where it is necessary to form soft stools without the doctor's recommendation. For example, if you have hemorrhoids or after surgery on the rectum or colon.

Dosage and method of use
Dosage in constipation or when soft stools are required: The dose is taken once daily, for example during breakfast, or in two daily doses in the morning and at noon (ie half the daily dose is taken twice a day).
Adults and adolescents under 14 years of age may take an initial daily dose of 15-45 ml and a maintenance daily dose of 15-30 ml.
Children and adolescents 7 to 14 years of age may receive an initial daily dose of 15 ml and a maintenance daily dose of 10-15 ml.
Children from 1 to 6 years of age can take an initial daily dose of 5-10 ml and a maintenance daily dose of 5-10 ml.
Infants under 1 year of age may take an initial daily dose of max. 5 ml and a maintenance daily dose of max. 5 ml.
Dosage in hepatic encephalopathy (for adults only): The initial dose in hepatic encephalopathy is 30 to 45 ml of oral solution 3 to 4 times daily. This dose can be adjusted to a maintenance dose to have 2-3 soft stools per day.
Do not give Duphalac to children under 14 years of age without a doctor's prescription, as your doctor will also closely monitor your child.
Ingredients
The active substance in Duphalac is lactulose. Each ml of Duphalac oral solution contains lactulose solutio corresponding to lactulose 667 mg.
Duphalac contains no excipients. However, it may contain sulfite and sugars such as lactose , galactose and fructose as a residue of the synthesis .
Contraindication
Do not use Duphalac if you are allergic / hypersensitive to lactulose and any other associated substances or if you suffer from galactosemia (a serious genetic disorder where you cannot digest galactose), bowel obstruction and perforation (perforation) of the digestive tract or if there is a risk of this perforation.
