Erwo Pharma Biocarbon high-quality activated carbon 50 tablets
BIOCARBON tablets contain high-quality activated carbon, which is produced by special charring of plant materials. Due to its large surface, it has a high binding capacity.
field of use
BIOCARBON tablets are used for diarrhea, especially when traveling to countries with an increased risk of hygiene. Medicinal charcoal is excreted naturally along with the adsorbed pollutants.
Contraindications
BIOCARBON must not be taken
- if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to medicinal charcoal or any of the other ingredients of BIOCARBON
- with severe constipation and suspected intestinal obstruction
interactions
The effect of other medicines can be reduced due to the high binding capacity of BIOCARBON.
BIOCARBON should not be administered together with medicines to induce vomiting, nor is it recommended to take the tablets together with medicines against diarrhea containing tannin.
In the case of the oral antidiabetic chlorpropamide (medicine against diabetes) and cardioactive glycosides (medicine against heart failure), the absorption from the intestine is inhibited by medicinal charcoal by up to 90%. It is therefore advisable to take these medicines 2 hours before BIOCARBON tablets or several Hours to be taken at different times with BIOCARBON tablets. The use of medicinal charcoal can reduce the reliability of oral contraceptives ("the pill"), which may require an additional method of contraception after using medicinal charcoal.
Other medications should be taken on an empty stomach at least one hour before BIOCARBON.
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
Pregnancy and lactation
BIOCARBON can be used during pregnancy and lactation.
