The active substance, by acting on the multifunctional proteoglycan, which binds to the components of the extracellular matrix and molecules of the cell surface, ensures the preservation of the dermo-epidermal connection. A very thin structure (75nm) is located at the intersection of the two most important layers of the skin: the dermo-epidermal junction (DES). The main task of this structure is to ensure cohesion between the dermis and the epidermis.
The importance of this connection to the maintenance of skin functionality is that the preservation of DES is a major goal of anti-aging cosmetic skin treatments. If the DES is damaged, the cohesion and communication between the dermis and the epidermis is interrupted, thus creating a prerequisite for the formation of wrinkles. When preventing aging, it is therefore inevitable to act on the structure of the dermis and its connection to the epidermis through DES.
