The FoB test is a specific immunochemical test to determine the presence of blood in stool with high sensitivity. The test thus allows to detect so-called occult bleeding in the digestive tract, which can be associated with many diseases, such as diverticulitis, colorectal cancer, polyps, Crohn's disease.
The test belongs to the category of immunochromatographic analysis and is designed for fast, one-step qualitative detection. Monoclonal antibodies that are part of the assay are used to selectively detect human blood (human hemoglobin).
