Stieprox 1.5% shampoo 100 ml
Stieprox shampoo contains the active ingredient ciclopirox olamine. This belongs to the group of antifungals. Stieprox shampoo is used to treat red, itchy and scaly scalp (seborrheic dermatitis).
Contraindications
Stieprox shampoo should not be used if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to ciclopirox olamine or any of the other ingredients of Stieprox shampoo (see section 6). If you are not sure, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Stieprox shampoo.
Particular caution is required when using Stieprox shampoo:
- Stieprox shampoo is for external use only.
- If you have grey, white or chemically damaged (eg hair colouring) hair, please consult your doctor or pharmacist before using the shampoo. In rare cases, Stieprox shampoo can lead to discoloration of the hair.
- Stieprox shampoo is not recommended for use in children under the age of 12 as the safety and effectiveness of Stieprox shampoo is not known in this age group.
- Be careful not to get the Stieprox shampoo in your eyes. It can cause burning and irritation of the eyes. If you accidentally get Stieprox shampoo in your eyes, wash the affected area with water.

Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or intend to take/use any other medicines, even if they are non-prescription medicines.
pregnancy and breast feeding period
This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or breast-feeding. So far there is no experience of the safety of Stieprox shampoo in pregnant women. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. If you become pregnant while using Stieprox shampoo, tell your doctor.
application
- Use Stieprox shampoo two to three times a week for a period of 4 weeks.
- Apply Stieprox shampoo only to hair, scalp and adjacent areas of skin as far as concerned.
- You can use a mild shampoo between each application of Stieprox shampoo.
side effects
Like all medicines, Stieprox shampoo can have side effects, although not everyone gets them.
The following side effects have been observed with Stieprox shampoo:

- Skin rash*
- skin burning
- Administration site redness*
Rare side effects
- allergic reaction
- skin peeling*
- Eczema (itchy skin rash)*
- hair loss*
- discoloration of the hair
- Change in hair texture (dry, matted, or dull hair)
Some of these side effects (marked with "*") may also be symptoms of the underlying disease. Therefore, if you notice that these symptoms appear for the first time after starting treatment with Stieprox shampoo, or if you notice a worsening of the skin irritation, redness or itching, stop using this product and inform your doctor or pharmacist.
composition
The active substance is ciclopirox olamine. 100 g shampoo contain 1.5 g ciclopirox olamine.
The other ingredients are: Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Disodium Phosphate Dodecahydrate, Citric Acid Monohydrate, Coconut Diethanolamide, Hexylene Glycol, Oleyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 80, Polyquaternium-10, Fragrance AF17050 (contains Dipropylene Glycol), Sodium Hydroxide, Purified Water.
