IVT IMUNO FOB test for occult bleeding in human stool 1 pc
The FOB test is an immunochemical test designed to detect the presence of blood in the stool, ie a test of so-called occult (hidden) bleeding in the digestive tract , which can be associated with many diseases such as diverticulitis, colerectal cancer, polyps, Crohn's disease. The test belongs to the category of immunochromatographic analysis and is designed for fast, one-step qualitative detection. The test responds only to human hemoglobin in the faeces.
The monoclonal antibodies that are part of the test are used to selectively detect human blood (human hemoglobin). A single sample is enough for analysis, sampling is possible from toilet paper. You will get an immediate result - within 5 minutes at any time of the day. No dietary restrictions are required before the test is performed, the test results are not affected by the intake of certain types of food.
The FOB test contains a combination of two monoclonal antibodies needed to selectively detect human hemoglobin in a stool sample. After application of the sample, it gradually rises along the strip of sorbent = test, the components of the sample are separated during migration. The color-labeled antibody conjugate specifically binds to human hemoglobin in the sample and together form an antigen-antibody complex, which is then specifically bound in the individual zones of the assay, and results can be read based on the color reaction.
The test is based on the principle of a highly specific immunochemical reaction between an antigen and an antibody used for the analysis of a specific substance. If the sample contains 10 mg / ml or more of human hemoglobin, a red T-band will form as an indicator of a positive reaction at the test position. If the stool sample does not contain human hemoglobin (or human hemoglobin is present at a concentration less than 10 ng / ml), a red stripe will not appear and the result will be negative. Control strip C is always present as an indicator of the functionality of the test regardless of the presence of human hemoglobin in the sample.
