Children's Luuf Balsam contains the essential oils from eucalyptus and the resin balsam of various pine species as well as camphor, menthol and thymol as active ingredients.

The active ingredients are partly absorbed through the skin and cause increased blood circulation, which causes a warming feeling. On the other hand, the essential oils, as highly volatile components, reach the lungs directly from the treated body parts via the air we breathe.

The effect of Kinder Luuf Balsam is antispasmodic, antiseptic (germ-inhibiting) and expectorant. The stuck mucus is liquefied and can be coughed up more easily. Furthermore, breathing is made easier and the urge to cough is alleviated.

Application areas:

  • for external use for colds with symptoms such as cough, runny nose and sore throat.
  • for supportive treatment of tracheal and bronchial catarrh (bronchitis) as well as stubbornly recurring catarrhs.

For children from the age of 2 to 12.

Contraindications

Children's Luuf balm must not be used

  • if the child is hypersensitive (allergic) to any of the active ingredients or any of the other ingredients of Kinder Luuf-Balsam.
  • if you have previously experienced febrile seizures or epilepsy
  • in infants and small children under 2 years of age due to the camphor and menthol content (risk of larynx spasm).
  • because of the camphor and menthol content in patients with bronchial asthma or other respiratory diseases that are associated with pronounced hypersensitivity of the respiratory tract. Inhaling Kinder Luuf balm can cause shortness of breath or trigger an asthma attack.

Interactions

Eucalyptus oil can affect the breakdown of foreign substances in the liver, which may weaken or shorten the effect of other medicines. This cannot be ruled out if children's Luuf balm is used over large areas.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding
This medicine is not intended for adults.

Application

Children from the age of 2 to 12:

Rub:
Apply children's Luuf balm 2-3 times a day, at least in the morning and evening. Depending on the child's age, apply approx. 1 - 2 teaspoons of balm to the chest and back and rub gently. The effect is improved if the chest and back are covered with a warmed bodysuit or warm towels.

Inhalation for children aged 6 and over:
Add an amount of Kinder Luuf balm about the size of a hazelnut to a container with hot water and inhale the vapors for several minutes.

If symptoms last longer than 5 days or worsen during treatment, see a doctor.

The Luuf balms are tailored to specific age groups. Baby Luuf essential oil balm is intended for small children from the age of 6 months to the age of 2. Luuf essential oil balm is available for teenagers and adults.
