Antiviral gel for use on the skin. Indicated for the treatment of cold sores (herpes labialis).

Contraindications

Lipactin must not be used

• if you are allergic to heparin sodium, zinc sulfate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6),
• in patients with a severely weakened immune system (e.g. with AIDS or after bone marrow transplantation),
• in children under 6 years of age.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
The active ingredients in Lipactin do not pass into breast milk. Lipactin can be used while breastfeeding.

application

Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

The recommended dose is:
At the first signs of infection (itching, feeling of tightness, pain, blistering), apply a thin layer of Lipactin to the affected areas 3 to 6 times a day.

The treatment should preferably be continued for a few days after the disappearance of the symptoms described above, but for a maximum of 7 to 10 days.

Lipactin Gel is for external use only.

Use in children Lipactin must not be used in children under 6 years of age. 

side effects

In rare cases (affects 1 to 10 people in 10,000) irritation such as a burning sensation may occur when applying, which will disappear spontaneously.
In very rare cases (affects less than 1 person in 10,000), local hypersensitivity reactions in the form of itching, erythema (reddening of the skin), papules or blisters, also extending beyond the treated area of ​​skin, can occur. In such a case, Lipactin should be discontinued
