Optiderm cream is a medicine for the supportive treatment of skin diseases with itching and dry skin.
1. WHAT IS OPTIDERM CREAM AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR?
Optiderm cream is a medicine for the supportive treatment of
skin diseases with itching and dry skin.
Optiderm cream is used to regulate the
moisture content of the horny layer
for oiling and relieving itching as a supportive treatment for
skin diseases with dry and / or itchy skin such as atopic
eczema (neurodermatitis) or for damage to the skin due to dehydration,
e.g. caused by detergents and detergents ( Desiccation eczema)
· for further and follow-up treatment of the skin diseases mentioned.
2. WHAT SHOULD YOU KNOW BEFORE USING OPTIDERM CREAM?
Optiderm cream must not be used
if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to urea, polidocanol or any of the
other ingredients of Optiderm cream.
If your skin is red and flaky all over your body (erythroderma).
If your skin is inflamed, wet and you have a skin infection.
Take special care when using Optiderm cream:
· Do not allow Optiderm cream to come into
contact with the eyes or mucous membranes .
· When used on inflamed or injured areas of the skin,
skin irritations (eg reddening of the skin, burning sensation) are possible (see also point 4
"What side effects are possible?").
· If you suffer from severe kidney dysfunction, Optiderm
cream should not be used over a large area.
If the symptoms
persist or if the application does not achieve the expected success , medical advice is required as soon as possible.
Using Optiderm cream with other medicinal products
Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are
taking / using or have recently taken / used other medicinal products in addition to Optiderm cream
, even if they are non-prescription drugs.
Apply to the same areas of skin during treatment with Optiderm cream
Do not use any other external drugs or cosmetics, as the absorption of other active ingredients (e.g. corticoids, dithranol, 5-fluorouracil) can
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
Ask your doctor or
pharmacist for advice before taking or using any medicine .
Risks associated with using Optiderm cream during pregnancy and while
breastfeeding are unknown. However, Optiderm cream should not be used on the
chest area during breastfeeding .
Driving and using machines
No special precautionary measures are necessary.
HOW TO USE OPTIDERM CREAM?
use Optiderm cream exactly as directed in this leaflet. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you
are not sure.
For application on the skin.
Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, apply a
thin layer of Optiderm cream to the skin twice a day .
The duration of the treatment depends on the improvement and is
generally 3 weeks.
If the dry skin persists, the
treatment can be carried out over a longer period of time after consulting a doctor .

4. WHAT SIDE EFFECTS ARE POSSIBLE?
Like all medicines, Optiderm cream can cause side effects, although not
every person treated will experience them.

5. HOW TO STORE OPTIDERM CREAM
Do not store above 25 ° C.
Store drug out of reach of children.
Do not use the medicine after the
expiry date stated on the label and the carton after "Use by:". The expiry date
refers to the last day of the month.
Do not use Optiderm cream for more than 6 months after opening the tube.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask
your pharmacist how to throw away medicines you no longer need.
This measure helps to protect the environment.

What Optiderm cream contains
The active substances are urea and polidocanol.
100 g cream contain 5 g urea and 3 g polidocanol
The other ingredients are:
benzyl alcohol (as a preservative), dimethicone, polymethylphenylsiloxane, paraffin,
cetyl palmitate, stearic palmitic acid, 2-octyl-1-dodecanol, polysorbate, carbomer, glycerol,
trometamol, purified water .
