Biotin is a water-soluble vitamin, formerly called vitamin H, today vitamin B7. Yippee an important part of enzymes, which is involved in the metabolism of fats, carbohydrates and amino acids in the body. It interferes as coenzyme to a number of metabolic processes in the human body (for example, to a number of metabolic processes fatty acid synthesis or gluconeogenesis). Biotin is also needed for the proper use of three branched chain essential amino acids (leucine, isoleucine and valine). It is therefore contained in a number of cosmetic products for strengthening hair and skin.
