Otrivin is used to restore the nasal congestion caused by:
- acute rhinitis
- hay fever or other allergic rhinitis
- inflammation of the sinuses.
- in case of otitis media (only on the recommendation of a doctor)
The product is intended for children over 1 year of age. OTRIVIN contains moisturizing and soothing substances to help prevent dryness and irritation of the nasal mucosa, making it suitable for patients with sensitive nasal mucosa.
Dosage
For children aged 1 to 5, an adult injects 1-2 drops into each nostril 1-2 times a day.
Children 6 to 11 years of age can inject the drops themselves under adult supervision, or the adult can inject 2 to 4 drops into each nostril 2-3 times a day. Keep an interval of 8 to 10 hours between doses. Do not exceed a total of 3 applications per nostril daily. The last daily dose is recommended to be given shortly before going to bed. If you feel unwell within 7 days (children under 5 days) or if you feel unwell, you should consult your doctor.
Composition
The active substance is xylometazoline hydrochloride (0.5 mg) in 1 ml solution.
The other ingredients are sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, sodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, sodium chloride, benzalkonium chloride, disodium edetate dihydrate, hypromellose, non-crystallising sorbitol 70%, purified water.
Notice
Otrivin should not be used by adults for more than 7 consecutive days and children for more than 5 consecutive days. If the problem persists, consult your doctor. Prolonged or excessive use may cause nasal congestion or worsening.
