CHARACTERISTICS:
Lemon flavor effervescent tablets containing calcium, which is essential for the proper functioning of the muscles and nerves, for the growth of bones and teeth. The daily calcium requirement varies between 500 to 2000 mg and increases in pregnancy, lactation and growth. Riboflavin is an important part of the enzyme systems necessary for metabolism.
INDICATIONS:
The product is used to cover increased calcium needs during growth, pregnancy and breastfeeding. At the doctor's recommendation, as part of the treatment for bone loss (osteoporosis), bone softening (osteomalacia), the increased capillary permeability in allergic reactions, as a supportive treatment of spasmophilia and tetany (increased nerve stimulation with a tendency to muscle cramps) as well as healing fractures.
The preparation may be taken by adults, including pregnant and nursing women, children from the age of 5 years and adolescents. The product does not contain sugar, it is also suitable for diabetics.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
The product should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to the active substances or to patients with severe renal impairment and kidney stones, patients with elevated blood calcium (eg parathyroid disease) and hypervitaminosis D. Patients taking digoxin may use calcium only with the consent of the attending physician and under his control.
ADVERSE REACTIONS:
Calcium 500 mg Pharmavit is usually well tolerated, but constipation, loss of appetite or pressure in the upper abdomen may occur.
If any of these side effects or other unusual reactions occur, talk to your doctor about any further use.
Hypersensitivity to the product may result in sudden swelling of the face with breathing, rash, and itching of the skin. In this case, stop taking the product immediately and consult a doctor!
INTERACTIONS:
The effects of Calcium 500 mg Pharmavit and other concomitant medications may interfere with each other.
Calcium can potentiate the effect and impair the tolerance of cardiotonic drugs (eg digoxin), reduce the effect of certain antibiotics (tetracyclines and kanamycin) and fat-soluble vitamins (vitamins A and D) because it reduces their absorption. Calcium absorption deteriorates phytic acid and oxalic acid, magnesium, potassium and sodium salts. The risk of hypercalcaemia (excessive calcium in the blood) is present with concomitant use of vitamin D preparations.
DOSAGE AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
If the physician does not prescribe otherwise, 1-2 adults take 1-2 tablets a day. For children aged 5 years and adolescents under 24 years of age, take 1 tablet once a day. The tablets are dissolved in a glass of water (about 200 ml) and the solution is best drunk or immediately after a meal.
The product may be used to cover increased calcium needs for 2 months without a doctor's check. If you are taking the medicine at the recommendation of a doctor, the doctor will determine the dosage and duration of treatment.
WARNING:
