Bromelain is obtained purely naturally from the pineapple stem. It is a herbal combination of enzymes and not an isolated substance. Bromelain therefore comprises a group of different enzymes (enzymes are biocatalysts) and represents a natural supplement to the diet. Pure Encapsulations ^® Bromelain DR contains 2400 enzyme activity units (GDU) per gram and by using an acid-stable capsule shell (DRcaps ^® ) bromelain retains DR the enzymatic activity.
